I Love Roomba

I've wanted a Roomba for years and for Christmas 2007, Beans gifted me with my very own little robot. It's does an amazing job on the floors, and that's a pretty big claim in this hairy household. With two sheddy cats and me, dropping 2' long strands everywhere, vacuuming is a full-time job around here. At least, it could've been, but wasn't, as Beans and I already have jobs that keep us pretty busy. Roomba takes care of the floors while I'm off doing something else. Now, I just have to train the cats to do the laundry! http://store.irobot.com

Hopeful

I've been short staffed in the office since early February. My back up staffing plans, including the back ups for the back ups, fell through and I was relying on a prospective temp to help fill the gap. Alas, even the temp fell through. I'd put the word out that I was looking, and after a long month of juggling remaining staff schedules, finally, a prospect. I'm meeting someone tomorrow whom I'm hoping will fit the bill. Fingers crossed. It's hectic enough when I have a complete crew and we've been down one for over a month now.

How are you?

I'm tired. Very sleepy, but not quite ready to turn off the day. Wednesday tomorrow (actually, in a few minutes). On the one hand, panic: Wednesday already?! On the other: hallelujah and hurry up weekend! No wonder I can't sleep yet. I'm suppose to be at an Employee Assistance Program conference Thursday and Friday and I'm going to have to cancel. There is no way I can be away from the office for two whole days. Honestly, I'm too tired to travel anyway. I've decided, after lengthy consideration, that it's time to resign from the program. I've been a volunteer since 2002, but it's been a challenge to participate as fully as I'd have liked this last little while. A shame, as I felt I was contributing, but work demands make it difficult to be available to provide the kind of support I would expect to receive. My boss has announced his impending retirement and I'm already in a period of Flux. Change. Transition. Upheaval. Uncertainty. Opportunity. Etc. Whatever you want to call it, it's bound to get worse, before it gets better.

I really need to rest up.
